Aunt Xu directed the servants to move the items inside, her face beaming with a warm smile as she explained.

"Tomorrow is Christmas, isn't it? I saw how lively everything was outside, so I bought a Christmas tree. It will look beautiful once it's set up tonight; Miss Lin will surely love it."

Because the master had always disliked liveliness, she had never made any preparations for the holidays in all the years she had worked at this villa. No matter the occasion, the house had always remained cold and desolate. Now that Miss Lin had arrived, she finally had a reason to celebrate the holidays properly.

"I see," Zhou Bei said, nodding in understanding.

Upon hearing about the Christmas tree, Lin Nanxun’s face lit up with curiosity and delight.

Aunt Xu glanced at the expressionless Shen Hanzhi and asked, "Sir, if you find this an eyesore, I can have these things sent back. What do you think?"

He was the master of this lakeside villa, and she dared not make such decisions without his approval.

Hearing Aunt Xu’s words, Shen Hanzhi instinctively glanced at the young girl beside him, who was looking at the crates with curiosity. He pursed his lips calmly and said, "Do as you please."

Receiving permission, Aunt Xu nodded happily. "Very well, I shall arrange it for tonight."

Turning to Lin Nanxun, she asked, "Miss Lin, what time will you be back today? Would you like to help decorate the Christmas tree this evening?"

Although the tree was already a full-grown one, it still needed to be adorned with small gifts and fairy lights to look its best.

As soon as Aunt Xu finished speaking, Lin Nanxun’s face filled with excitement. However, she did not agree immediately. Instead, she turned her gaze toward Shen Hanzhi, looking at him with earnest anticipation as she asked, "Bad guy, will you come?" She widened her beautiful eyes, staring straight at him.

She wanted to decorate the Christmas tree with the "bad guy."

Shen Hanzhi paused. Remembering his busy schedule for the day, he instinctively wanted to refuse. But when his gaze met those eyes brimming with expectation, the expression on his handsome face froze.

After a two-second hesitation, he pressed his thin lips together and said quietly, "Alright."

Hearing his agreement, a joyful smile instantly blossomed on Lin Nanxun’s face.

Seeing this, Aunt Xu covered her mouth and chuckled to herself. "I’ll let the master accompany Miss Lin to decorate the tree tonight. Since Miss Lin only wants to decorate it with him, I might as well go home and spend time with my grandson."

After Aunt Xu finished, Shen Hanzhi couldn't help but frown and glance at her, his tone laced with slight annoyance. "Aunt Xu, since when did you become so talkative?"

It seemed Aunt Xu’s courage had grown quite a bit lately; she actually dared to tease him?

"Fine, fine, I won't say another word." Aunt Xu smiled helplessly and hurried off to direct the servants with the tree.

Watching Aunt Xu’s rare moment of playfulness, Zhou Bei couldn't help but chuckle. He suddenly felt that the atmosphere in the villa was completely different from before—it had become much more relaxed.

Just as Aunt Xu scurried away, Shen Hanzhi turned his head and caught Zhou Bei smiling as well. His handsome face darkened.

"Boss, I’ll go get the car." Zhou Bei was startled. He instantly regained his composure and hurried into the car parked outside.

Shen Hanzhi frowned deeply, his expression looking rather grim.
