126 The Arrogant Rich Kid Wants Fried Chicken!
A large number of zombies blocked the road, making Chen Yilei and the others too afraid to enter the city. It was clear that there were even more zombies inside the city. The entire city was doomed. They had been lucky to survive until now.
At that moment, they spotted a lifeline—a leaflet dropped from a helicopter. The North Mountain Hospital printed on the leaflet became their beacon of hope.
“This is North Mountain Hospital, the place mentioned in the leaflet,” said one of the women with short hair.
“I wonder if there’s any food here. I’m starving—I could really go for some fried chicken nuggets!” said another woman with green-dyed hair, her mouth watering at the thought.
They had been hungry for an entire day.
“Fried chicken nuggets! How can you dare eat fried food? Aren’t you afraid of getting fat?” the short-haired woman exclaimed, clearly shocked.
“Occasionally eating it won’t hurt,” the green-haired woman said sheepishly.
“Being here feels like coming home. Don’t worry, whatever you want to eat, you can have it. My dad is the chairman of a pharmaceutical company. All the hospitals in the city have taken money from him,” Chen Yilei said confidently, patting his chest with pride.
Naturally, this earned admiration from the other two women. They kept calling him “Young Master Chen,” flattering him to no end, which made Chen Yilei feel quite pleased with himself.
Hearing their conversation, Xue Feng was dumbfounded. Fried chicken? Dieting? He had seen starving survivors before, but never heard of any wanting to lose weight. And the rich second generation still thought money could solve everything. Nowadays, even newspapers were worth more than money because they burned longer.
These three had no understanding of the rules in this apocalypse. They were still driving a Ferrari around, oblivious to the fact that sports cars guzzled fuel and made lots of noise.
Xue Feng shook his head and ignored them. However, their presence gave him an opportunity: the people inside the hospital would surely be attracted by these three.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
Chen Yilei frantically honked the sports car’s horn, producing a piercing sound.
“I’m Chen Yilei! My father is Chen Dafu! Come out and greet us!” Chen Yilei shouted loudly.
As soon as he finished, several women dressed as nurses came out of the hospital.
These nurse’s figures were exquisite—long legs and proud shapes, averaging about 1.7 meters tall. They wore white thigh-high stockings and flat cloth shoes. Their gait was graceful, rivaling the models on fashion runways.
“Are you survivors who came here?” the head nurse smiled slightly.
“That’s right. I’m Chen Yilei. Your director must have heard my name. Even if not, the Chen Pharmaceutical Company is surely known,” Chen Yilei said confidently.
“I haven’t heard of you. Are any of you ‘gifted’?” The head nurse’s smile did not fade, but her eyes turned cold.
“‘Gifted’? What’s that? Hurry up and prepare some food! Bring out your best to entertain us, or don’t blame me if I get angry,” Chen Yilei snapped, treating these nurses like servants.
“If not gifted, then you’re just supplies. Get them,” the head nurse said with disappointment.
Immediately, several women surged forward, quickly pinning Chen Yilei and the other two women to the ground and tying them up.
“What are you doing? You’re hurting me! Aren’t you afraid of my father? If he finds out, he’ll kill you!” Chen Yilei roared.
He still believed his father, Chen Dafu, was alive—after all, his father had dozens of bodyguards.
Then the head nurse stepped up in front of Chen Yilei and kicked him hard in the mouth. Several teeth flew out, blood staining her flat shoes.
“Shut up! Worthless trash,” the head nurse said coldly.
Chen Yilei had never been treated like this before and no longer dared to shout, only sobbing quietly. No one had ever dared hit him in his life.
The other two women were terrified, not knowing what was happening. Seeing Chen Yilei beaten, they trembled silently.
“Leave two to guard them. The rest, come with me to take these people to the basement. Let’s see where they came from and what information they have. Although I suspect they’re just fools who don’t even understand what the apocalypse is,” the head nurse said disdainfully, then turned and left.
“Yes, ma’am!”
The other nurses nodded and led Chen Yilei and the others inside the hospital.
Xue Feng watched this scene and nodded silently. It seemed there were still normal people inside this hospital. These nurses were among them. The same went for the helicopter pilot they had encountered earlier.
Strange! Why were these normal people together with the mentally ill? There had to be a special reason.
Xue Feng felt there were too many secrets in this hospital. He had to find out.
Now was the best time for him to enter the hospital.
Watching the nurses lead Chen Yilei and the others inside, the hospital’s entrance was temporarily unattended. Usually, these nurses guarded the area.
But to be safe, Xue Feng activated his ability.
“Time Freeze!”
Everything around seemed to slow down. Xue Feng pressed against the wall and swiftly entered the hospital’s entrance.
The two nurses sensed a figure passing by, and the next second their vision went black—they collapsed to the ground. Xue Feng had knocked them out.
He carried the two nurses into a nearby ward and stuffed them into a cabinet.
Only then did he cautiously proceed to the corridor.
The hospital corridor was pitch black; the incandescent lights above were off. The hospital had no power. At least most of it was powerless—unlike Xue Feng’s base, which luxuriously had energy covering the whole area.
In this apocalypse, most people lived in powerless environments.
Although Xue Feng didn’t know where the basement was, he just followed the footsteps ahead.
The nurses and Chen Yilei’s group hadn’t noticed him following.
They soon stopped at a corridor entrance, which should be the basement’s entrance.
Xue Feng was pondering whether to follow them down and eliminate all threats in the basement when a man dressed as a doctor appeared from the opposite direction.
