118 Helicopter!
The helicopter swept past not far from Xue Feng. A large horde of zombies, attracted by the noise, relentlessly pursued below. The helicopter’s broadcast continued unabated. Meanwhile, a significant number of leaflets were scattered from above. Only after a long while did it disappear into the northern horizon.
“There’s a shelter at Beishan Hospital!” An Xiaowei couldn’t help but exclaim.
“Beishan... could it be the same place that was spreading leaflets before?” Xue Feng narrowed his eyes, instinctively linking the two.
However, the previous leaflet mentioned only a few powerful psychics, while the current broadcast claimed there were over a dozen. The information clearly didn’t match. Yet, both announcements were disseminated by helicopter leaflets.
“It must be the same group. The leaflet said there weren’t many psychics initially, so maybe some have joined them recently,” You Haoyun said, holding a fresh leaflet that had just floated into her hand, sparing her the trouble of searching. This made Xue Feng quietly admire her luck, though unfortunately, it didn’t seem very useful now.
Xue Feng took the leaflet, compared it carefully, and confirmed it was indeed the same group. Both the format and content were essentially identical.
“Who are those people? Could they be military?” An Xiaowei asked curiously, though she had no intention of going there. She firmly believed staying by Xue Feng’s side was safest.
“They probably aren’t. The leaflet is stamped with ‘Rescue,’ so it might be a civilian rescue organization’s helicopter,” Xue Feng shook his head. Nowadays, many civilian rescue groups had advanced equipment, including helicopters and various drones.
Still, Xue Feng sensed something strange. Why would a civilian group actively recruit survivors? Did they have such abundant supplies to spare for strangers? In this apocalypse, trustworthy people were rare.
“Most likely it’s some trap, turning people into barbecue,” You Haoyun said angrily, recalling how someone had once smeared sauce on her, nearly turning her into grilled meat. Of course, You Haoyun didn’t know that it was Xue Feng and An Xiaowei who had applied that sauce.
“No matter what, it’s best not to provoke them for now,” Xue Feng said, shaking his head. They would wait for intelligence from Qin Fengshan before making their next move.

“If no information comes through, we’ll plan the next step then.”
“Okay, I’ll follow your lead, Brother Xue,” An Xiaowei obediently nodded.
Just as Xue Feng was about to get into the car and leave, You Haoyun suddenly pointed in a direction.
“Brother Xue, look over there!” she called out.
Looking over, Xue Feng turned his head, initially thinking the helicopter had returned. But soon he realized it was something else.
At the top floor of an office building, several bright flags fluttered, seemingly placed deliberately to attract attention. The distance was considerable—at least two or three kilometers.
Xue Feng pulled out a pair of binoculars from his backpack. Though ordinary and not the high-power ones Qin Fengshan’s group used, they were enough to see objects two kilometers away.
When he focused on the colorful flags, he was stunned. The flags were actually women’s clothes—vividly colored dresses.
“You can see that far?” Xue Feng couldn’t help but marvel.
“I just happened to notice something strange over there,” You Haoyun said, sticking out her tongue sheepishly. She hadn’t expected to spot it herself. Xue Feng understood this was just the luck goddess at work again.
“So, what do we do, Brother Xue? Should we check it out?” An Xiaowei asked.
“Let’s go,” Xue Feng nodded.
He wasn’t interested in scattered survivors usually—they posed no threat nor value. But this time was different. Since lucky You Haoyun had discovered them, maybe visiting would bring more fortune.
Driving to the office building, they found it had six floors and was relatively tall for the area. Once a luxury district, it had now become a tower of hell, surrounded by a dense crowd of zombies—at least several hundred.
When the apocalypse broke out, too many refugees clogged the streets. Cars blocked the roads, while sidewalks and side paths were jammed, making it hard for zombies to wander out. Xue Feng’s group had to crash their way through by car.
Faced with so many zombies, An Xiaowei and You Haoyun remained unfazed. They got out and began methodically picking off zombies with their rifles. Each gunshot sent a zombie’s head exploding.
Zombies were now faster and stronger than before—using iron rods was no longer safe. Guns were simpler and more effective.
Soon, the surrounding zombies were mostly cleared. The gunfire did not attract many more, as the city’s undead population had thinned significantly after the last massive surge.
“Are you trying to rescue us?” A clear female voice called from a sixth-floor window.
Xue Feng and the others looked up and saw a long-haired woman emerge from the open window, shouting. The gunshots had drawn her attention. There were indeed people here!
“How long have you been trapped?” Xue Feng called up.
“Since the apocalypse began. Please, save us!” she pleaded, weakly.
She looked frail, as if even shouting drained her greatly.
“If you’re willing to work for me, obey my orders, and prove your worth, I can rescue you,” Xue Feng nodded.
Normally, he wasn’t very interested in such survivors. He preferred to have more capable men under his command. More people meant more resources consumed.
But since lucky You Haoyun had found them, maybe they could bring some good fortune.
“We’re willing! We’re willing!” the woman cried, her voice trembling.
In these desperate times, she would obey any command as long as he saved them and provided food.
Her name was Feng Fa’er, a well-known top streamer on a certain platform. Her voice was beautiful, her singing unique and popular. Despite many days without food, Feng Fa’er’s features remained delicate, and she was still well-dressed.
“Don’t tell them about our cannibalism!” A cold voice sounded behind Feng Fa’er as she wept.
