Chapter 093: Lure the Snake Out of Its Den
Zhao Wind brushed past the monk.
After taking only two steps, he suddenly frowned. A monk? Was he planning to leave the country?
He turned back, but the monk’s figure had already vanished.
Zhao Wind’s expression turned a little cold. So fast. I hope I’m overthinking this.
After that little interruption, he no longer felt like eating. He shook his head and returned to Red Square’s side.
Red Square was wearing a red dress and had her head down, playing a game on her phone.
When she saw Zhao Wind come back, she paused in surprise.
“Aren’t you going to eat?” she asked.
Zhao Wind shook his head. “I’m not in the mood anymore.”
“Oh.”
Red Square only gave a brief reply and thought no more of it. Zhao Wind did not mention the monk either.
The two of them sat in their seats, waiting quietly.
At noon, they boarded the plane.
There was no direct flight from Chenzhou to Chicago, so they had to transfer in the Magic Capital.
That was why they had set out early.
The flight from Chenzhou to the Magic Capital took less than two hours.
By then, Zhao Wind and Red Square were already seated on the plane.
The flight attendant had begun reminding everyone to turn off their phones.
Zhao Wind took out his phone and made a call.
After a few rings, the call connected.
“Hello, Li Peace. I’ll arrive in the Magic Capital in about two hours. Come pick me up then.”
“Sure thing, Brother Wind!”
“Mm.”
“Brother Wind, my sister and I will be waiting for you in the Magic Capital!”
“Mm. That’s all.”
“Okay, okay!”
After hanging up, Zhao Wind stretched.
The flight attendant walked over to him. “Sir, please turn off your phone.”
Zhao Wind smiled faintly. “All right.”
He switched off his phone, stretched again, put on his eye mask, and prepared to catch up on some sleep.
With his eye mask on and his eyes closed, he was just about to drift off when the flight attendant’s voice sounded beside him again: “Sir, please turn off your phone.”
This time she was speaking to someone else.
Zhao Wind paid no attention.
Suddenly, a man’s voice rose. “Wait a moment!”
The flight attendant frowned. “Sir, please…”
Smack!
The sharp sound of a slap stunned everyone.
Zhao Wind was startled as well.
He lifted his eye mask and saw the flight attendant covering her face, tears glistening in her eyes.
The one who had struck her was a short, fat, bald man.
Zhao Wind glanced at him. The bald man was glaring angrily at the flight attendant.
“Do you know what I’m doing? I’m talking business!”
“Do you know how important this deal is to me?”
“If it falls through, I could lose hundreds of thousands, even millions!”
The flight attendant covered her cheek, trying desperately not to cry. In a trembling voice, she said, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
At that moment, the lead attendant came over.
“What happened? What happened?” she asked.
The bald man pointed at the flight attendant. “She interfered with my business!”
The lead attendant hurriedly put on a smile. “Sir, please don’t take offense. She’s new.”
“Hmph.”
The bald man snorted, glanced at the woman he had hit, and revealed a look of mocking interest.
“Now my deal is ruined! Your airline has to compensate me,” he said.
The lead attendant froze. “Sir, how would you like us to compensate you?”
The bald man’s eyes dropped to the flight attendant’s legs. “Simple. Let her go to the restroom with me.”
“This…” The lead attendant hesitated.
But only for a moment.
She quickly said, “I’ll speak to her about it.”
“Mm.”
The bald man nodded coolly.
Around them, the other passengers wore a variety of expressions—some envious, some contemptuous, all different.
“What a piece of trash.”
“You’re the one jealous.”
“Jealous of him? Are you serious?”
“I think you’re definitely jealous.”
The lead attendant came to the flight attendant’s side. “Xiao Min, just agree to it. He must be a big boss. You won’t lose out.”
The flight attendant named Xiao Min had tears in her eyes and kept shaking her head. “No! I won’t!”
The lead attendant fixed her with a stern look. “If you don’t agree, I won’t make you permanent.”
“I…”
Xiao Min was at a loss for words.
She looked up at the lead attendant pitifully. “Please, you can’t do this to me.”
The lead attendant snorted. “I’m advising you to agree quickly. If I were you, I’d have already said yes.”
A cold voice rang out. “Then why don’t you agree yourself? You watch-peddling hag.”
The lead attendant was taken aback.
She turned around and saw Zhao Wind standing not far away.
Frowning, she asked, “Sir, who are you?”
Zhao Wind answered flatly, “Nobody. Just an ordinary man.”
“An ordinary man, then?” The lead attendant instantly understood.
She said, “Sir, this has nothing to do with you…”
Smack!
Before she could finish, Zhao Wind slapped her across the face.
The lead attendant stood there dazed, clutching her left cheek.
“That’s your lesson,” Zhao Wind said coldly.
The lead attendant let out a disbelieving shriek. “Ah! How dare you hit me?”
Smack!
Zhao Wind raised his hand and slapped her again.
The lead attendant was completely stunned. She stood there blankly, unable to react.
“Kid, who do you think you are? Trying to ruin my good thing?” The bald man stood up.
Zhao Wind looked at him coldly. “If you don’t want to die, you’d better behave.”
Boom!
At that moment, an invisible pressure burst forth from Zhao Wind.
From somewhere in the cabin, someone exclaimed in surprise, “A third-stage martial artist? No wonder. Now I can relax.”
The bald man swallowed hard. He had the distinct feeling that if he continued to push, the man before him would truly kill him.
He forced himself to speak. “Kid, do you know who I’m going to see in the Magic Capital?”
He was trying to steady himself.
Zhao Wind gave a sneer. “I don’t care who you’re going to see.”
“Fine!” The bald man pointed at Zhao Wind’s nose. “Kid, you’ve got guts. Let’s meet in the Magic Capital!”
“Good. I’ll be waiting,” Zhao Wind said.
“Hmph.”
The bald man snorted and sat back down without another word.
Zhao Wind turned his cold gaze on the lead attendant. “You’d better not make things difficult for her. Otherwise, that disgusting face of yours won’t be worth keeping.”
The lead attendant quickly covered her face, terror flooding her heart.
In truth, Zhao Wind had secretly used a technique. It was called Soul Summoning Art.
It could influence a person’s spirit. When cultivated to mastery, it could attack the spirit, even the soul.
What Zhao Wind had done just now was plant a suggestion in the lead attendant’s mind, making sure she would not dare do anything to the flight attendant named Xiao Min.
Only then would there be no future trouble, no hidden worries.
Zhao Wind sat back in his seat indifferently, put on his eye mask again, and before long was fast asleep.
Red Square, seated beside him, sneered. “I never expected you to be such a busybody.”
Zhao Wind said coldly, “Because my heart knows injustice, I have to intervene.”
“What a noble sense of injustice!”
