Chapter 118: A Succession of Romantic Encounters
The visit to the Xiang residence ended abruptly, fading into insignificance.
Back home, Zhao Feng found himself still lingering on memories from a year ago.
"Those days were truly happy!"
"My first meeting with my senior sister, our journey to the Immortal Gate!"
"Studying medicine at the Medicine Peak Sect, chatting with my fellow disciples!"
"It's just that..."
"Those days are gone forever!"
Zhao Feng withdrew his gaze from the hills behind the house, his eyes tinged with melancholy.
"Ring, ring!"
Zhao Feng’s phone rang. He shook his head, walked to the bedside, picked it up, and glanced at the screen. To his surprise, the call was from Zhai Xiangyu; if all went as planned, the expedition to the Extreme Yang Sea Eye was about to begin.
Zhao Feng pressed answer.
"Hello?"
Zhai Xiangyu’s voice came from the other end: "Fellow Daoist, we are set to explore the Extreme Yang Sea the morning after next. Where are you right now?"
"In the Dragon Kingdom!" Zhao Feng replied coolly.
"The Dragon Kingdom??"
"Yes!"
"How could you be there??" Zhai Xiangyu sounded surprised.
Zhao Feng frowned. "Why? Can I not be in the Dragon Kingdom?"
"No, no, no!" Zhai Xiangyu quickly denied. "As everyone knows, the Dragon Kingdom is a forbidden zone for cultivators!"
Zhao Feng was puzzled. "Aren't you a citizen of the Dragon Kingdom?"
Zhai Xiangyu chuckled. "To be honest, I am Japanese."
"What??"
"I said, I am Japanese!"
Zhao Feng’s expression darkened instantly. He had never expected that the seemingly polite Zhai Xiangyu would be Japanese. In an instant, his favorable impression of the man plummeted.
Perhaps sensing Zhao Feng's thoughts, Zhai Xiangyu added, "Fellow Daoist, regardless of my nationality, please believe that my sincerity is genuine!"
Zhao Feng rolled his eyes. "I hope your sincerity is indeed genuine!"
"Hahaha!" Zhai Xiangyu laughed. "Rest assured!"
"Hmm."
Zhao Feng gave a noncommittal grunt and hung up.
After ending the call, he dialed Hong Chang’s number. It was already eleven o'clock at night.
"Beep."
"Beep, beep!!"
He called several times, but there was no answer. Zhao Feng grew annoyed. Looking out the window, he decided to go find her himself.
"Boom!"
He leaped directly from the second-floor window. Checking left and right to ensure no one was around, he vaulted over the garden wall. With a flick of his wrist, a green shuttle appeared in his hand.
"Ming Yi used this to fly! Now, even without reaching the Foundation Establishment stage, I can fly too!"
Eager to try it out, he pinched a hand seal. The green shuttle began to hover around him before settling beneath his feet, gently lifting him up.
"Hahaha!"
Zhao Feng laughed with delight. His body rose slowly into the air. Identifying his direction, he zipped off into the distance.
In the hills behind the house, by the spring-fed river, Wang Xiaoyun was bathing when suddenly a cursing voice rang out.
"Damn it! I can't control the steering on my first try!"
Before Wang Xiaoyun could react, a dark shadow came crashing down. The figure seemed furious, swearing loudly.
"Splash!"
The shadow landed right in front of her.
Wang Xiaoyun blinked. "Xiao Feng??"
Zhao Feng wiped his face, and as his eyes adjusted, they fell upon a stunning beauty.
"S-Sister-in-law Xiaoyun?"
"Hahaha!" Wang Xiaoyun paused for only a second before bursting into a sweet, melodic laugh. "Xiao Feng, we meet again! What a coincidence!"
Zhao Feng swallowed hard as Wang Xiaoyun stood up from the water, revealing a breathtaking view. He felt his throat go dry.
"Sister-in-law Xiaoyun, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to disturb your bath!"
"Hahaha!" Wang Xiaoyun covered her red lips, laughing until her body trembled.
Zhao Feng quickly turned around. Wang Xiaoyun seemed completely unbothered by his presence, as if they were a long-married couple, yet their interaction was filled with the raw intensity of life. Whenever he faced her, Zhao Feng felt that his dull life was suddenly full of color.
He took a deep breath. "Sister-in-law Xiaoyun, I..."
Before he could finish, a pair of red lips pressed against his.
"Mmph!"
Before he could react, a fiery kiss had begun. He was intoxicated, but just as he wanted to deepen the embrace, she pulled away as quickly as she had arrived.
Standing a distance away, Wang Xiaoyun looked at him with a smile. "I scared you a few times before; this is my compensation to you!"
With that, under Zhao Feng’s bloodshot gaze, she stepped onto the riverbank and walked away, her flawless body swaying gracefully.
"Whew!"
Zhao Feng took a deep breath, feeling a bit more clear-headed.
He shook his head, stepped out of the water, and flew toward Hong Chang’s residence. Her home was located in the eastern part of Huaian County, near Dragon Lake, in an antique-style villa.
Just as he arrived above the villa and let out a sigh of relief, his cultivation suddenly contracted violently, failing him without warning. He was still a hundred meters in the air.
"Ah!!"
He screamed as he plunged downward.
"Ah!!"
"Aaaah!!"
He let out a heart-wrenching wail. With a loud splash, he fell straight into a body of water.
Looking around, he breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness it's water on both sides, or I’d be done for!"
As he prepared to jump out, he suddenly felt a pair of eyes on his back. He whipped around and froze.
Not only was he stunned, but Hong Chang was as well. She stood in the water, caught completely off guard, and had been seen in the buff by Zhao Feng.
Zhao Feng chuckled. "You’re quite fair-skinned!"
"Ah!!"
Hong Chang shrieked and lashed out with a kick. Zhao Feng, quick as an eel, sidestepped and grabbed her ankle. With a sharp tug, he pulled her toward him.
Face to face, they both froze, their breaths mingling in the silence. Suddenly, acting on pure impulse, Zhao Feng leaned in and kissed her.
"Mmph!"
Before she could react, he had already tasted her lips.
"Ow!"
Zhao Feng cried out in pain as Hong Chang bit his tongue.
"Ow, ow!"
He scrambled back, clutching his tongue and wincing. "That was vicious!"
"Hmph!" Hong Chang glared at him, her face dark. "Zhao Feng, you’ve got some nerve! How dare you violate me!"
Zhao Feng wasn't about to back down. "You’re always acting like such a tomboy; I thought you weren't interested in men, so I just wanted to test the theory!"
"How dare you!!"
Hong Chang leaped up, her strong, shapely legs lunging as she kicked out at him.
