Li Dan lay on the bed, half believing, half doubting. “You—you—can you really cure my face?”

Zhao Feng rolled his eyes. “This is the fifth time you've asked me!”

He chuckled, “Just wait until Chen Ying comes home tonight—she’ll be amazed.”

“Really?”

“Really!”

“All right, then begin!” Li Dan said.

Zhao Feng wasted no more words. He extended his hands and gently placed them on Li Dan’s forehead, slowly massaging and spreading the iridescent liquid. Patiently, he worked until the medicine covered her entire face.

With a smile, Zhao Feng declared, “Now comes the moment of witnessing a miracle!”

Li Dan was visibly excited. “Is there anything I need to do?”

Zhao Feng replied, “I’ll wrap your face with gauze first, then I’ll start the acupuncture.”

Li Dan was surprised. “Acupuncture too?”

“Yes.”

“All right…”

Uncertainty lingered in Li Dan’s heart; she couldn’t shake the feeling that she was a lab rat.

Without further comment, Zhao Feng took a roll of gauze from his blue satchel and began to wrap it gently around Li Dan’s face. Only when she resembled a mummy did he stop.

Wiping his brow, Zhao Feng said, “Bandaging really is meticulous work!”

“Is it done?” Li Dan asked.

“All done! How do you feel?” Zhao Feng inquired.

Li Dan thought for a moment. “Cool, a bit itchy… I can’t quite describe it.”

Zhao Feng laughed, “Now, take off your top, I’ll start the acupuncture.”

Li Dan’s cheeks flushed instantly. “Why do I need to take off my clothes?”

“Of course! Otherwise, how could I perform the acupuncture?”

“That…”

Zhao Feng rolled his eyes. “Relax, I’m a healer. I have no other intentions.”

“This… fine…”

Li Dan wore a blue floral dress with a zipper at the back. She sat up and reached for the zipper.

“Oh no!”

“The zipper’s caught my hair. Could you help?”

Zhao Feng hesitated.

Li Dan rolled her eyes in return. “Didn’t you say healers are pure-hearted? Why hesitate now?”

“Who says I’m hesitating?” Zhao Feng was embarrassed.

He rubbed his nose and reached for the zipper.

“Ouch! You hurt me—it’s caught my hair!”

“Oh, sorry!” Zhao Feng quickly released his grip. “How about now?”

“It’s better!”

At that moment, Zhao Feng was as clumsy as a child.

Li Dan asked, “Have you ever helped another girl with her dress zipper?”

Zhao Feng shook his head. “Never.”

Li Dan smiled, “So this is your first time?”

“Yes,” Zhao Feng nodded.

“Well, I suppose I’m lucky.”

Zhao Feng rolled his eyes. “What’s lucky about that?”

“Nothing,” Li Dan dodged the topic.

With a soft tearing sound, Zhao Feng managed to unzip the back of her dress, revealing her smooth back. Li Dan was taller than average, and her figure—her curves—marked her as a beauty. Especially now, in her dress, her shapely figure drew the eye.

Sitting on the bed, with her face wrapped like a mummy, Li Dan exposed her flawless back. Zhao Feng stood behind her. If one only looked at her skin, it was clear she possessed a tender, youthful beauty.

“What should I do now?” Li Dan asked.

Zhao Feng smiled, “That’s it—just keep your back exposed.”

“Oh!”

Because of the gauze, her face couldn’t be seen, but at this moment, Li Dan’s cheeks were burning.

“Just lie face down on the bed,” Zhao Feng instructed.

“Oh!” Li Dan hesitated.

Zhao Feng blinked. “What’s wrong?”

Li Dan hesitated again. “I want to take off my shoes…”

“Go ahead, do whatever makes you comfortable!”

Li Dan faltered, but after a brief pause, she slipped off her shoes.

Instantly, a delicate little foot appeared. She wore white socks, making her feet look petite and charming, almost irresistible.

Zhao Feng glanced at her feet, his face turning red.

Quickly, he turned his head away.

Li Dan giggled, covering her mouth.

She didn’t tease him further. She lay gently on the bed, baring her snow-white back.

Zhao Feng took a deep breath, opened his blue pouch, and inside, the eighteen deadly needles were neatly arranged.

With a soft metallic sound, Zhao Feng picked up a silver needle. “I’m about to begin.”

“Okay.”

Without further ado, he pressed the needle lightly into Li Dan’s back.

“How does it feel?” Zhao Feng asked.

“My face feels even itchier,” Li Dan replied.

“Perfect, that’s exactly how it should be!” Zhao Feng said, picking up another silver needle.

With a swift motion, he inserted it into her back. Now, two needles stood upright in her smooth back.

“How about now?”

“It’s itchier! Feels like something is growing!”

Zhao Feng nodded, satisfied.

With two more swift moves, he inserted four additional needles.

Li Dan whimpered, “This is unbearable!”

Zhao Feng’s expression grew solemn. “Hold on, now I’ll use spiritual energy to stimulate your cells!”

“All right…”

Zhao Feng stretched out his right hand, channeling his energy with intensity.

A faint green glow appeared on his palm. He placed his hand above the needles, and the green aura slowly seeped through them.

He repeated the process for each needle, infusing them with spiritual energy.

Exhaling deeply, Zhao Feng stopped the flow.

Li Dan groaned in pain.

Zhao Feng’s voice sounded. “Just a little longer!”

Before he finished speaking, Li Dan let out a soft moan, her face flushed with embarrassment.

She dared not look up. She wondered how she could make such a sound—a sound she had never heard from herself before.

Zhao Feng smiled, “It’s all moving along just right. Now we simply wait quietly.”

“Mm.” Li Dan, shy, could only respond softly.

Time ticked by. After about half an hour, Zhao Feng moved swiftly.

His hand blurred, and in the next moment, the needles were gone from Li Dan’s back.

Li Dan let out another soft cry, quickly covering her mouth in alarm.

Zhao Feng smiled, “Now, for the final step.”

“There’s still one more?”

“Yes.”
