Chapter 75: Tough Bones Rejoined, Astonishing Everyone!
"Stop fighting, stop it!"
"Come over here if you dare!"
"Trash like you still have the nerve to shout in front of us? Do you think sitting quietly in class for a few days will make any difference? If any of you manages to get into college, I'll do a handstand and eat shit live!"
"Looks to me like you're just begging for trouble!"
Curses flew from every direction as Luo Shencheng wrestled with another, the two tangled together, impossible to separate.
Suddenly, Luo Shencheng felt the force on his arm lessen, and the other man’s hands went numb, powerless. Shen Chutang easily pulled them apart.
The instant Luo Shencheng saw Shen Chutang, he fell obediently silent.
The moment Shen Chutang appeared, the students from Class Z instinctively shut their mouths and stopped arguing, some even pouting and preparing to complain.
Lu Wendong was the first to speak up, "Teacher, the students from Class Y came over on purpose today to provoke us, calling us all trash."
"Yeah, they started bullying us first!"
A single look from Shen Chutang silenced them all. "Quiet."
Instantly, everyone fell quiet.
The boy from Class Y who’d been hit clutched his nose and spat venomously, "You’re finished now! You made my nose bleed. I’m going to report you!"
"Is that so?" Shen Chutang replied.
The boy immediately let go of his nose. "Look!"
Shen Chutang tapped a pressure point on his neck and waved her hand dismissively. "Alright, eat some pig liver for lunch today and you’ll be fine."
The boy touched his nose in surprise. Odd—no more blood.
Shen Chutang looked at the nearby teacher. "You must be Chen Jing, Teacher Chen. What happened here?"
Naturally, Chen Jing wouldn’t admit that her own students had started the trouble, so she forced a smile and said, "It was just a few words exchanged between students, nothing serious."
Shen Chutang turned to the students from Class Y. "If that's the case, why are you still lingering at the door of Class Z instead of returning to your own classroom?"
One of the boys who had been fighting still looked defiant, but Shen Chutang ignored him and addressed the Class Z students, "Class Z, back to the classroom."
Everyone obediently turned to go. Just then, Shen Chutang heard heavy, hurried footsteps behind her, followed by a startled cry.
Unexpectedly, the same boy who’d been fighting refused to give up; while Luo Shencheng’s back was turned, he dashed into the classroom, grabbed a stool, and swung it at the back of Luo Shencheng’s head!
At the critical moment, Shen Chutang raised her arm and blocked the blow head-on.
A sharp crack echoed through the hall; everyone heard it. Even the boy himself was startled—he hadn’t expected to strike a teacher.
The homeroom teacher of Class Y was terrified. "Teacher Shen, are you alright?"
Luo Shencheng saw Shen Chutang's arm hanging at an odd angle, and his rage flared—he wanted to rush forward and avenge her.
"Stop!"
Shen Chutang swept a cold gaze over them. "All of you, get back inside! What, you’re not even going to listen to me anymore?"
Luo Shencheng’s eyes reddened with fury, but Lu Wendong and the others dragged him into the classroom.
The commotion finally drew the attention of the principal, who arrived to see Shen Chutang’s arm dislocated, breaking out in a cold sweat at the sight.
If those at Beijing University found out, not only would Shen Chutang be called back, but the principal’s own job might be on the line.
In the end, both classes received a reprimand; the student who had attacked was given a major demerit, his parents were called, and he was made to write a letter of guarantee. Only then was the matter laid to rest.
Yet while everyone else was anxious, Shen Chutang herself seemed entirely unconcerned.
The principal couldn’t help but say, "Teacher Shen, let me take you to the hospital."
"No need to waste time, I’m fine. You may go back."
Shen Chutang thought wryly to herself that being a principal was no easy job. Not only did he have to manage so many students, but also their parents. After a year of this, his hair would surely turn white with stress.
Back in the classroom, Luo Shencheng looked worried. "Boss, your hand... You should really go to the hospital!"
"Yeah, boss, you have to go!"
The others chimed in. Shen Chutang reached out with her other hand, grabbed her wrist, and with a crisp snap her wrist was set back in place.
She flexed her arm. Yes, it was back to normal.
The classroom was dead silent, the students all stunned by Shen Chutang’s astonishing action.
Wasn’t this the kind of thing you only saw on TV? Yet it had just happened before their very eyes!
Luo Shencheng exclaimed excitedly, "Boss, you’re awesome!"
"Boss, you’re awesome!"
Shen Chutang waved her hand impatiently for quiet.
"Are you all idiots? What do you gain by bashing each other’s heads in at school? Will you get extra points on the college entrance exam? Or a better job assignment? Wasting a class period—do you know how many key concepts you’re losing?"
"If it were me, I’d spend every minute studying, get into university, and make them eat their words live, handstand and all!"
Instantly, the class was charged with excitement. They were determined to get into a good college and make the Class Y students pay for this.
Shen Chutang continued, "Celebrate if you want, but there’s something else I need to announce."
