Chapter 44: She Is Actually the Teacher
Qian Zihan crossed her arms over her chest, casting a sidelong glance at Shen Chutang. “Graduate? Tingting, you really are too naïve. How could someone from Class Z possibly graduate and get into university as smoothly as we from Class A? People like them are the dregs of society, parasites in the school. Even being classmates with them makes me feel like my own status is diminished!”
Shen Tingting’s eyes danced with a smile, but her words were honeyed with malice. “Even if she’s stupid, I believe if she tries hard enough, she might still find someone decent to marry... Oh, but I forgot—my dear elder sister ran off with some random man at such a young age, and he’s just a taxi driver.”
In an instant, everyone’s gaze toward Shen Chutang changed. After all, a high schooler who’d repeated grades for years, stuck in Class Z, and yet already married—this was explosive news for students who cared for nothing but studying!
At last, Shen Chutang spoke. “I haven’t heard a single Class Z student badmouth classmates from other classes. On the contrary, it’s you self-proclaimed Class A elites—where did you acquire such conceit, the right to look down on your peers?”
“And, I’m not your classmate. I am the new homeroom teacher for Class Z, Shen Chutang. What’s this? Upon seeing your teacher, do you not even know how to greet with basic courtesy?”
For a moment, the girls standing behind Shen Tingting were stunned—she was a teacher!
Qian Zihan’s face changed immediately, but she still hesitated—did their school really have such a young teacher?
Shen Tingting burst out laughing. “What a joke, Shen Chutang! If you’re going to lie, at least make it believable. You, a village girl who hasn’t even graduated high school, daring to call yourself a teacher? Or are you that kind of ‘teacher’? Everyone in Class Z knows what sort of dirty things they get up to.”
Qian Zihan now found her confidence as well. “Tingting’s right. She’s your sister—how could she not know what kind of person you are?”
The crowd quickly bought into this reasoning.
Shen Chutang’s lips curled into a faint smile, her gaze sharp as a blade. “Shen Tingting, as a high school student, you’d better clear out that filth you’re trying to stuff into the heads of your Class Z peers.”
“After lunch, all of you are to report to the Student Affairs Office.”
Qian Zihan marched right up and shoved Shen Chutang on the shoulder. “What, you’re addicted to pretending to be a teacher now?”
Just then, Luo Shencheng returned from getting his meal and saw the confrontation. Hearing their malicious words and seeing them lay hands on Shen Chutang, he could not stand by.
Qian Zihan, certain that even if she attacked a Class Z student, the others would still take her side, became even more reckless.
The next moment, hot soup splashed down from above.
“Ahhh!”
Luo Shencheng slammed his tray onto the floor with a resounding crash, his eyes fierce. “Who dares disrespect Teacher Shen!”
Qian Zihan’s eyes turned red with rage when she saw Luo Shencheng, but she dared not retort. After all, he was the notorious school tyrant of the affiliated high school.
Shen Tingting barked, “Shen Chutang, you’ve gone too far, inciting them to bully us from Class A. We’re all elites here, the future pillars of the nation!”
Lu Wendong promptly dumped a bowl of mung bean soup over Shen Tingting’s face. “Pillars, my foot! Let me cool you off right now!”
“Ahhhh! How dare you throw soup at me!”
Chaos erupted in the cafeteria. Just then, the principal arrived with several teachers. Seeing the scene, he immediately shouted, “What are you all doing? Stop this at once!”
Shen Tingting rushed to complain. “Principal, look at what these Class Z people are doing, bullying us from Class A, especially this Shen Chutang! She’s just transferred to Class Z and already ganging up with these degenerates against us!”
The teachers did not recognize Shen Chutang, but upon hearing that Class A students were being bullied, they immediately stepped forward.
“Can you people from Class Z behave for once? Can’t even eat a meal in peace?”
“Did your parents pay so much to send you here just so you could bully your classmates?”
“Apologize at once!”
Luo Shencheng, Lu Wendong, and Xu Gaoyuan remained silent, their faces stony, as if they were all too familiar with such situations.
“Principal, is this the attitude one of the top high schools in the capital should have toward its students?” Shen Chutang’s eyes blazed, her tone severe. “Before you even understand what happened, just because of a few words from Class A, you instantly assume Class Z is at fault! In your eyes, are Class Z students so thoroughly condemned that anyone can look down on them, trample them beneath their feet?”
“Academic performance is important, but character matters even more. Bullying isn’t limited to physical acts—wouldn’t you agree, Principal?”
Shen Tingting, now feeling emboldened with authority behind her, immediately snapped, “Shen Chutang, are you crazy? How dare you speak to the principal like that!”
Unexpectedly, the principal silenced her with a cold, “Enough!”
The next moment, the principal approached Shen Chutang with a beaming smile. “Teacher Shen, please don’t be angry. It was wrong of us to jump to conclusions without understanding the situation. We owe you and the students of Class Z an apology.”
