Chapter 96: Murphy’s Law

“Her? Who are you talking about?” Ye Qiong found it hard to believe. How could a pure girl like Wang Ying possibly know any of the idle ruffians from the outside world? And as for the answer Wang Ying held in her heart, Ye Qiong was all the more eager to know who that girl had been just now.

“I don’t know her either. She just looked a little like the woman who was with Zhang Shen a moment ago.”

“Ye Qiong, don’t get so worked up yet. Maybe it wasn’t her after all.”

Although Wang Ying had witnessed Zhang Shen’s exaggerated display earlier, she still refused to believe it was true. But now that the woman had actually shown up, Wang Ying was truly at a loss.

Seeing Wang Ying hesitate, Ye Qiong said directly, “No matter who she is, let’s follow her and see. Won’t we know then?”

Seeing that Huang Wanting had not found Wang Ying, Zhang Shen planned to send her out of the school gate first, then explain everything to Wang Ying the next day. But Huang Wanting clearly had a different idea.

It was a school guard.

“It was me,” Ye Qiong answered crisply.

“What’s the matter?”

“This girl isn’t from our school. There isn’t even anyone like her in our class, and her student ID is fake.”

As a guard, hearing that someone had actually tried to slip through under his nose was certainly damaging to the school’s reputation if word got out, but he could not rely solely on this young lady’s side of the story.

“Take out your student IDs and let me see them.”

“Who goes downstairs and still brings their student ID?”

“One of you stay here. The other go up and get it now.”

Wang Ying looked at Ye Qiong, and in the end Wang Ying went upstairs to fetch them while Ye Qiong stayed behind.
