Over the past few days, he had gained a general understanding of the company's situation and made some minor personnel adjustments. The security department, consisting of thirteen people, was split into two teams—one led by Wang Dafu, the other by Wang Lei—to ensure full coverage patrols throughout the company.

The next day, just as Qin Yang stepped out of Su Ying’s office, he unexpectedly ran into Wang Dafu.

"Dafu, what a coincidence," he greeted.

"Yes, quite the coincidence," Wang Dafu replied, his face dark. "Qin Yang, you've only been at the company a few days, and already you're running in and out of Manager Su's office for no reason."

Qin Yang looked a bit stunned at this, then said impatiently, "Wang Dafu, I'm the head of the security department. You're nothing more than a team leader. Do I need to consult you before I do anything?"

"And another thing—when you have nothing to do, please focus on your own duties."

"You—" Wang Dafu was seething, his two hundred plus pounds of flab trembling with fury. Everyone in the company knew he fancied Su Ying, but she never gave him the time of day.

"Just you wait, boy. I'll show you what I can do," Wang Dafu muttered, a dangerous glint in his eyes as he stormed into Su Ying’s office.

"Manager Su, I can't work with that Qin Yang. Either he goes, or I go. You decide," Wang Dafu burst out angrily.

Su Ying was momentarily taken aback, not understanding what had just transpired.

"Dafu, what's the matter?" Despite her dislike for his current behavior, she couldn’t ignore the fact that over the years, he had contributed greatly to the company’s security. "Besides, I need to discuss this with President Wu. It's not my decision alone."

"Fine. Let's wait for President Wu to handle it. I won't come back to work until it's settled," Wang Dafu retorted, storming off. Su Ying could only watch him leave in exasperation. In the end, she called Wu Yaoyao, but learned she was back in her hometown and would make a decision upon her return.

Qin Yang sat at the company entrance, smoking a cigarette, with Wang Lei and Li Jun beside him.

Wang Lei, watching Wang Dafu leave with most of the security staff, was filled with worry.

"Yang, what are we going to do now that Wang Dafu took everyone with him?"

"Yeah, Yang, this is trouble. You don't think President Wu will just fire us over this, do you?"

"Heh, don't worry. Those old, frail, and sickly ones—if they minded their own business, I wouldn’t have bothered them. But since they're so eager to follow Wang Dafu out, they might as well not come back."

"Do either of you have any old comrades? See if you can get in touch and have them come over."

Wang Lei clapped his forehead. "Actually, Yang, I was just on the phone with an old comrade yesterday—he was complaining that I’d found a good job. I’ll call him right now."

"Good," said Qin Yang, nodding, just as he was about to head to the cafeteria for lunch when Su Ying called.

"Get up here right now," she demanded.

His face creased with a wry smile. This woman really was troublesome.

"Manager Su, what can I do for you?" he asked with a smile as he entered.

Bang!

"Qin Yang, is this your doing? Now Wang Dafu has taken people away—who’s responsible for company security?"

"Manager Su, the security of the company is the business of our department. If anything happens, I, Qin Yang, will take full responsibility." With that, he turned to go. "Oh, and by the way, Manager Su, you’re actually quite pretty when you’re angry."

With those words, Qin Yang left, leaving Su Ying grinding her teeth in frustration.

"Bastard!"

Exiting the office building, he called Black Third, asking him to send over a few men to help guard the premises.

Half an hour later, Black Third himself led over twenty men, all in black vests, fierce and intimidating, startling everyone nearby—they thought something serious had happened.

"Black Third, don’t you think this is a bit much?"

"Heh, Yang, you gave the order—how could we slack off?" He turned to his men. "You lot, get changed and do your job properly. Don’t embarrass me."

"Yes, Third Brother."

News of this quickly reached Su Ying. Hearing that Qin Yang had summoned over twenty men with a single phone call, who were now patrolling the company in uniform, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Black Third, no trouble lately?"

Black Third’s face grew serious. "Yang, you told me not to, how could I dare?"

"Now Tiger and I are planning to open a repair shop for our next venture. When the time comes, we’ll need your support."

This declaration took Qin Yang by surprise, but he was genuinely pleased. "Good. That’s the right path. Only by doing things the right way can you truly go far."

Three days later.

At Wang Dafu’s residential complex, seven or eight men squatted at the gate.

"Dafu, didn’t you say President Wu would call us back to work? It’s been three days, and there’s still no call."

"Yeah, Dafu. We all have families to support. Losing this job and finding another security post with such good pay won’t be easy."

Wang Dafu stubbed out his cigarette, frowning darkly. "Let’s wait a bit longer. Let me think of something."

While gloom hung over them like a cloud, the Xiaozhu Industrial Park was bustling with activity.

Wang Lei and Li Jun had proven themselves capable, managing to recruit five more men over the past few days. Along with themselves and Qin Yang, their ranks now numbered eight, nearly restoring the original staff.

Qin Yang turned to Black Third. "Black Third, you and your brothers—if you ever need a place to work, you’re always welcome here."

Black Third nodded, looking at his men. Several of them were clearly pleased with the job, and in the past few days, coming to work made them feel proud—they were no longer seen as petty thugs, but as hardworking, upstanding young men.

"Anyone who wants to stay, stay. We’re all here in Bincheng, after all. When you have time, we’ll get together again."

The white van drove away—of the twenty-three who had come, five stayed behind.

Spending time with Qin Yang and the others had been transformative for Black Third. He now felt a deep aversion to his old ways and was more determined than ever to open the repair shop.

Under the astonished eyes of the rest, Qin Yang led the new recruits through the onboarding process—Su Ying’s look of complete shock was immensely satisfying to him.

Seven of them were former special forces members, all highly capable. The other five, though ex-thugs, had spent years in street brawls, giving them a solid foundation. With proper training, they could become invaluable assets.

On the fourth day.

Wu Yaoyao returned, while Qin Yang sat in his private office, his face grim. He hadn’t expected Wang Dafu to resort to such extreme measures, colluding with others to sabotage the company.

Fortunately, Wang Lei and the others had discovered the plot in time, or the consequences would have been unimaginable.

When they saw Wu Yaoyao, the defectors wept and pleaded, admitting their mistake and begging to be allowed back.

But Qin Yang only shook his head in resignation. "You chose this path yourselves. Since you made your choice, don’t regret it."

"Go now, and don’t make me call the police."
