Chapter Five: The "Qi" in the Air That Can Be Seen

Ning Jiuyou slowly opened her eyes and gently nodded. “I don’t know what happened exactly. After you left, I tried to circulate the cultivation method that appeared in my mind, and unexpectedly, I actually succeeded in condensing Dou Qi.”
“Moreover, I found that I can see the flow of Qi in the air. It feels somewhat different from the Qi in my mind, yet there seems to be some kind of connection.”
Xiao Yan furrowed his brows slightly and took a few steps forward, his eyes full of curiosity and confusion. “You can see the flow of Qi in the air?”
“I’ve never heard of such a thing before, but if what you say is true, then this Qi might have a special relationship with cultivation.”
Ning Jiuyou pondered for a moment and then said, “Also, I feel like I have cultivated before and must have had a certain foundation. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have reached the Dou Zhe realm you mentioned so quickly. But strangely, I can’t recall any of my past.”
Looking at Ning Jiuyou, Xiao Yan recalled how he had been rejected because of his regression in cultivation.
A complex flood of emotions surged within him — surprise, curiosity…
He knew that on the Dou Qi continent, talent in cultivation was extremely important. Ning Jiuyou had just awakened a short while ago and had already broken through to Dou Zhe. Such talent was truly astonishing.
Xiao Yan smiled and said, “Jiuyou, your situation is indeed special. But no matter what, this is a good thing for you. Perhaps when you remember your past, your strength will rise even higher.”
At this moment, inside Xiao Yan’s ring, Yao Lao was silently observing Ning Jiuyou. He keenly sensed something unusual within her body.
Not only had she condensed Dou Qi and reached the realm of a one-star Dou Zhe, but more astonishingly, her previously severed meridians were slowly repairing themselves. The speed and degree of this recovery were far beyond what an ordinary Dou Zhe could achieve.
Yao Lao was startled and sent a mental message to Xiao Yan: “Xiao Yan, did you notice? This girl not only broke through to Dou Zhe, but her once severed meridians are repairing themselves on their own. This is not something an ordinary Dou Zhe can do. There must be something fishy about it.”
“Maybe it has something to do with her bloodline. Find a chance to ask her if she feels any abnormalities in her body.”
Hearing Yao Lao’s mental message, Xiao Yan was slightly taken aback, with a trace of doubt flashing in his eyes as he looked at Ning Jiuyou before him.
Wearing a concerned expression, he asked, “Jiuyou, besides breaking through to Dou Zhe, do you feel any discomfort in your body? If there’s anything wrong, you must tell me and not keep it to yourself.”
Ning Jiuyou was slightly stunned, paused her movements, and looked up at Xiao Yan with eyes full of doubt. “Why do you suddenly ask that? I feel fine, no discomfort. Just a bit weak, but much better than when I first woke up.”
Xiao Yan hesitated, unsure whether to tell Ning Jiuyou about Yao Lao’s discovery. But seeing her current state, he was certain she was fine.
He smiled and said, “It’s nothing serious. I just worry about your body since you were seriously injured before and suddenly broke through now. I’m afraid your body might not handle it. Since you feel okay, that’s good.”
Ning Jiuyou nodded and smiled gratefully. “Thank you, Xiao Yan. But I don’t feel anything wrong with my body.”

She then stood up and moved around slightly. “I really am fine, so don’t worry. Besides, I feel my body is slowly recovering. Maybe it won’t be long before I’m fully healed.”
Seeing Ning Jiuyou’s confident smile, Xiao Yan’s worries eased a little.
He nodded and said, “That’s good. If you need anything, just tell me. I’ll help you as much as I can.”
Ning Jiuyou smiled in response.
Looking at Xiao Yan, she said, “Thank you, Xiao Yan. If you hadn’t saved me and told me so much about this world, I might not be alive now, let alone have reached Dou Zhe.”
Xiao Yan waved his hand. “Don’t be so polite. We’re friends now. And you’re so powerful; maybe you’ll remember your past soon. Don’t dwell on it—look ahead.”
“Xiao Yan, you really are a good person!”
Hearing Ning Jiuyou’s words, Yao Lao chuckled softly inside the ring.
“Haha, little Yan, she called you a good person. Tsk tsk, that’s a good guy card. You better work hard to show her other shining qualities, don’t always be labeled just a good guy.”
Xiao Yan blushed slightly at Yao Lao’s teasing, feeling somewhat helpless.
“Teacher, please stop joking. It’s not like I’m not concerned about Jiuyou’s health. You told me to care for her.”
Yao Lao couldn’t help laughing again. “Yes, yes! I told you to care, but you don’t seem very concerned. I won’t tease you anymore.”
“But you still have to keep an eye on this girl. Her origin and abilities might bring you unexpected help… or trouble.”
Xiao Yan nodded and mentally replied, “I understand, Teacher. I’ll be careful.”
At that moment, Ning Jiuyou’s stomach suddenly growled softly, and her face flushed slightly.
Xiao Yan laughed heartily. “Looks like you’re hungry. Let’s go eat. I asked the kitchen to prepare some delicious food just for you.”
He then stretched out his hand in an inviting gesture.
Ning Jiuyou nodded and followed Xiao Yan out of the room.

The two arrived at the dining hall, where Xiao Zhan was already seated at the table. Seeing Ning Jiuyou and Xiao Yan enter, he smiled and said, “Girl, how do you feel? Yan’er said you’re recovering well.”
Ning Jiuyou bowed slightly and politely said, “Uncle Xiao Zhan, I feel much better. Thank you for your concern. I can even cultivate now, currently at the one-star Dou Zhe realm.”
Xiao Zhan was slightly stunned, surprise flashing in his eyes, then he showed a pleased smile. “I didn’t expect you to recover so quickly and break through to Dou Zhe. That’s remarkable. Come, sit down and eat.”
“Xiao Yan, this must be the girl who’s been recovering all these days.”
Xiao Yan nodded and introduced, “Xuan’er, this is Ning Jiuyou; Jiuyou, this is Xuan’er.”
Ning Jiuyou bowed slightly in polite response.
From their previous conversation, she had learned that Xiao Xuan’er often affectionately called Xiao Yan “Brother Xiao Yan” and shared the same surname, so she guessed this must be Xiao Yan’s younger sister.
Xiao Xuan’er walked over to Ning Jiuyou, looking at her with gentle eyes and asked with concern, “Little sister Jiuyou, is your body feeling better? I heard you were seriously injured before and was very worried.”
Ning Jiuyou smiled and replied, “Thank you for your concern, sister. I’m much better now and just broke through to Dou Zhe.”
Surprise flashed in Xiao Xuan’er’s eyes, then she laughed. “You can just call me Xuan’er, little sister Jiuyou.”
“I didn’t expect you to have such great talent. If you ever need anything, just tell me.”
Ning Jiuyou nodded gratefully. “Thank you in advance, Xuan’er.”
They chatted a little more. Xiao Zhan looked at everyone and said, “Alright, stop talking so much and eat before the food gets cold.”
Everyone then sat down and began their meal.
At the table, Xiao Yan occasionally served dishes to Xiao Xuan’er and Ning Jiuyou, introducing the names and specialties of the food.
Xiao Xuan’er also chimed in occasionally, creating a warm and harmonious atmosphere.
She quietly resolved to restore her strength as soon as possible to repay Xiao Yan and the Xiao family’s kindness. At the same time, she hoped to recover her lost memories and uncover her true origins...
