Chapter 5: Some Attacks Hurt Just to Watch
【Profession: Death Sovereign】 (Exclusive Hidden Profession)
【Cataclysm Traits】
1. All personal skill effects are doubled.
2. Not unlocked due to insufficient level.
3. Not unlocked due to insufficient level.
The cataclysm traits effectively add three extra attributes to Su Mubai’s profession. Although only one trait has been activated so far, it is already terrifying enough. Doubling all skill effects—what does that even mean? Su Mubai was eager to test his newfound strength.
Though he could further upgrade his existing skills without cost, Su Mubai decided to leave the village entrance before taking that step. After all, he was far from invincible and saw no need to reveal too much in public.
With that thought, Su Mubai swung his practice bone staff and cast a skill.
【Summon Little Skeleton】
In the next moment, a pale gray vortex suddenly appeared beside Su Mubai. Two skeletons, each about one and a half meters tall, stepped out side by side.
“Click, click...”
The pupils of the two skeletons flickered faint soul flames as they stood silently to Su Mubai’s left and right. As an F-rank skill, the summoned skeletons were naturally not very powerful—their bones were pale white and riddled with cracks. Even the rusty iron swords they held were full of chips and corrosion. Su Mubai half-expected them to fall apart at any moment.
But appearances could be deceiving; while looks might impress, what mattered most were their attributes.
“0.75 seconds.”
Checking the casting time, Su Mubai roughly understood the doubling effect of the cataclysm trait. The number of summons was doubled, and the original three-second casting time was reduced by 50% due to the "Summon Amplification" effect, then halved again.
“I wonder if the attributes are doubled too?”
Su Mubai opened the attribute panel for the little skeletons with a thought.
【Little Skeleton】
【Strength: 20】
【Constitution: 20】
【Agility: 20】
【Spirit: 20】
【Health: 200/200】
【Attack Power: 20】
【Physical Defense: 10】
【Skills: None】
(The lowest-level little skeleton, barely qualified to be called a skeleton warrior after enhancement.)
Both little skeletons had identical stats, embodying a simple yet powerful word—strong.
Originally, with Su Mubai’s 10 spirit attribute, the summoned little skeletons should have had only 5 points in each stat. Such attributes, lacking any profession bonuses or skills, were comparable to those of ordinary players.
Now, under the double boost of “Summon Amplification” and the cataclysm trait, the two little skeletons’ attributes had quadrupled!
More terrifyingly, as long as the skill cooldown ended, Su Mubai could keep summoning more. His current summoning capacity allowed up to ten little skeletons simultaneously! The formation of a plague legion was imminent.
“Brother, your talent must at least be A-rank, right?”
A voice interrupted, and Su Mubai turned, slightly surprised. A warrior player carrying a longsword approached, his gaze lingering thoughtfully on the two little skeletons.
“Yeah, an A-rank enhanced summon,” Su Mubai smiled faintly and glanced at the other’s ID: Night Wanderer.
Since the Multi-World Game had just launched, almost no one could hide their ID yet. Su Mubai's summoned skeletons were not only more numerous but also noticeably larger than those of other necromancers. It was natural that someone would notice.
“Form a team to level up together? I’m also A-rank talent. If we join forces, we’ll level up faster,” Night Wanderer extended his longsword hand, inviting Su Mubai to team up.
Not only him, but many others had gathered around the village entrance, all searching for teammates. Though the newbie village was meant for players to adapt to the game, the monsters here were by no means easy.
Even the lowest-level Ground Chick at the village entrance was capable of killing a single player.
【Ground Chick】
【Level 1】
【Health: 100/100】
【Attack Power: 10】
【Physical Defense: 5】
【Magic Defense: 5】
(Can you really be beaten by a chicken?)
In just over ten seconds, Su Mubai saw dozens of white flashes outside—clearly, some players couldn’t even defeat the Ground Chick.
If not for exploiting a bug, this creature could kill Su Mubai ten times over with one strike. But now, it posed no challenge to him.
Declining Night Wanderer’s team invitation, Su Mubai summoned a thought and, guarded by the two little skeletons, stepped out of the newbie village.
The surroundings were filled with combat scenes—players were fighting Ground Chicks with all their might.
Su Mubai noticed that the normally summoned little skeletons of other necromancers were only about 1.2 meters tall—true little dwarfs.
“Damn, why did I pick a tank profession? These damn chickens peck so painfully!”
“Stop complaining and kill the chickens.”
“Damn it, these chickens have higher attack power than me.”
“Ah, level 0 players are weaker than level 1 chickens!”
“I’m done. I’m going back to the village to see if there’s a crafting profession. Whoever wants to fight these things, go ahead!”
“Look at that White Night, the two skeletons he summoned are so much stronger than mine.”
“He must have awakened a great talent. Another day of envy for us mere mortals.”
...
Su Mubai paid no mind to the chatter. With Ground Chicks all occupied by other players, he had no intention of fighting for kills. Instead, he directed his skeletons towards a distant area.
Why bother fighting level 1 monsters when he had exploited such a huge bug?
The game had a built-in mini-map, which players could summon anytime. It floated transparently in the upper right of the screen.
According to the map, Su Mubai soon left the Ground Chick territory and entered the level 2 monster zone.
【Red-Eyed Rabbit】
【Level 2】
【Health: 150/150】
【Attack Power: 15】
【Physical Defense: 7】
【Magic Defense: 7】
(Be careful—it likes to jump and butt you in the groin.)
There were far fewer players here. At this stage, those daring to farm monsters here were either players who had awakened A-rank or higher talents or some pre-formed teams.
Perhaps the Red-Eyed Rabbit’s fondness for groin attacks explained this.
Su Mubai saw two tank players curled up on the ground, knocked down by the rabbits.
The Multi-World Game was a realistic world, meaning 100% real pain.
Just watching made Su Mubai shudder.
Every man feared this kind of attack.
“Luckily, I don’t have to get my hands dirty,” Su Mubai’s lips twitched as he continued forward, commanding the two little skeletons to start clearing monsters.
Without the player horde, stepping into higher-level maps inevitably attracted some Red-Eyed Rabbits.
There were no neutral monsters here; once outside the village, every monster was hostile.
Especially the Red-Eyed Rabbit’s chilling gaze fixed on players’ groins, which made one’s scalp tingle.
However, the little skeletons had no groin to worry about. Fearless, they brandished their rusty iron swords and charged straight at the Red-Eyed Rabbits.
-13
-15
The Red-Eyed Rabbit howled in pain and suddenly rammed one little skeleton.
-11
The little skeleton, immune to pain, mechanically counterattacked.
For such low-level monsters, Su Mubai saw no need to control the skeletons’ movements meticulously.
No, he never needed to.
Why bother with fancy maneuvers when he could overwhelm by both quantity and quality?
Having long left the newbie village, Su Mubai raised an eyebrow and swung his bone staff once more.
