Chapter Seventy-Six: The Uprising of the Rebel Army
Mo Nian Nian endured two hours of torturous music before the concert finally ended.
She lifted her foot to leave, but her Screaming Chicken sister grabbed her. “Nian Nian, come with me to the bathroom. I’ve needed to go for ages, but I couldn’t bear to leave my idol.”
Before Mo Nian Nian could answer, her friend dragged her backstage to the concert’s restroom.
Mo Nian Nian was baffled. Why did she need to be dragged along? Since when did going to the bathroom require company?
The backstage restroom was packed, and it looked like it would take at least an hour to get through. Mo Nian Nian was about to suggest heading back, but her friend gave a sly smile. “Let’s go to the second floor. Maybe we’ll bump into my idol!”
Still confused, Mo Nian Nian was pulled upstairs. Someone barred their way, but whatever her friend said to the security guard got them through.
Mo Nian Nian looked on, puzzled. Her friend tugged her along, saying, “Why are you spacing out, Nian Nian? You’ve never been here, right? Forgot to tell you—my dad invested in this place too.”
Mo Nian Nian asked, “So why did you squeeze in with everyone else for the concert?”
“That’s the only way to really feel it.” Her friend stared at her for a couple of seconds. “You seem weird tonight, Nian Nian. Don’t you usually do this kind of thing?”
Before Mo Nian Nian could reply, her friend continued, “You got to meet your husband up close tonight. Did it knock you silly?”
“Anyway, I’m off to the bathroom. Hold my bag for me.” With that, her friend tossed her bag to Mo Nian Nian and disappeared.
Mo Nian Nian had no choice but to wait at the door.
As she waited, she started to piece together the plot of this little world.
The male lead in this world was a hugely famous star, who shot to fame as soon as he debuted, gathering hordes of female fans.
The original character was the daughter of a coal tycoon—not just any tycoon, but one with mines full of oil and riches. A true nouveau riche, with money to spare.
She started idolizing Jiang Hu from the moment he debuted, spending over a million on him.
“Hu, you have a private interview at ten, a banquet with Mr. Wang at twelve, then two hours of rest, and at three you head east to film the reality show. After that, at eleven in the morning…”
“Got it.”
From outside the door came faint voices; one sounded like Jiang Hu, that scoundrel.
Mo Nian Nian wasn’t keen to see him, so she quietly hid.
“By the way, Hu—” The man with Jiang Hu didn’t finish his sentence; Jiang Hu blocked him. “What, you plan to follow me even to the bathroom?”
The round-faced manager smiled awkwardly. “Of course not, Hu, please.”

The manager stepped out, but Jiang Hu, despite saying he’d use the restroom, didn’t go in. He stood before the sink, his gaze dark.
He turned on the faucet, fiercely scrubbing his slender, pale hands, washing them again and again.
The darkness in his eyes grew heavier.
Mo Nian Nian glanced over; his hands were already red.
How ruthless, she thought.
Knowing Jiang Hu’s temper, Mo Nian Nian quickly figured out why he was doing this.
A fan had just shaken his hand.
At the time, he smiled as if he didn’t mind, but clearly that was not the case.
Suddenly, a lightbulb went off in Mo Nian Nian’s mind; an idea took shape.
Her Screaming Chicken sister finished in the bathroom and shouted from inside, “Nian Nian, I’m done, let’s go!”
Jiang Hu’s gaze snapped over, sharp and cold.
Mo Nian Nian stepped out from around the corner, excitement on her face as she stood before Jiang Hu. “Brother! I’m your fan, do you remember me?”
Jiang Hu instantly donned his perfect mask, smiling gently. “It’s you. We just met.”
“Yes, yes! I adore you, I’m your loyal fan—I’ve bought all your albums, watched each of your shows at least three times.”
Mo Nian Nian played the role of a crazed fan to perfection.
She spoke so passionately that she took two steps forward. Jiang Hu instantly retreated, a flash of disgust in his eyes.
Mo Nian Nian, pleased with her scheme, tried to step closer, but her friend’s voice rang from behind, “Nian Nian! I knew it! You didn’t even call me!”
Her friend was even more excited, showering Jiang Hu with compliments.
Mo Nian Nian could clearly see Jiang Hu’s expression growing colder and colder.
So icy.
“Sorry, my manager’s waiting outside. I’ll leave now.”
With that, Jiang Hu strode out of the restroom.
Mo Nian Nian’s sharp hearing caught him questioning the manager about why there were others in the restroom.
The manager replied quietly, “I checked—one is the daughter of Gold Real Estate, their family owns the whole venue, the security couldn’t say no.”

Jiang Hu’s steps halted, his gaze chilly. “This is my last warning—don’t let it happen again.”
“Of course, of course, you’re always right.” The manager kept his head down, venomous light in his eyes. He muttered under his breath, mad, so arrogant. If he weren’t still useful, the boss would’ve gotten rid of him long ago.
Mo Nian Nian watched Jiang Hu’s retreating back, her gaze meaningful. She’d found a way to deal with him.
Her Screaming Chicken sister chattered non-stop, half the time praising Jiang Hu, the other half fantasizing about their future together.
Mo Nian Nian finally managed to shake her off.
She returned home, following her memories to the residence in this world. The place was dazzlingly luxurious, as if the words ‘nouveau riche’ were emblazoned everywhere.
The only one home was the housekeeper; her parents were busy. Exhausted, she skipped dinner and went straight to bed.
The whole ordeal was more tiring than climbing a mountain all day.
Even in her dreams, Mo Nian Nian was haunted by the torturous music.
She slept straight through until ten the next morning.
She called out for Jiang Hu without thinking, only then remembering she was in a new world, with no one to serve her. The unfamiliarity unsettled her.
[The male lead’s here too. Host, if you work hard and win him over, won’t your old life come back?]
Mo Nian Nian scoffed. [No thanks.]
He was not someone she could afford to provoke.
When she finally had time, she’d have to have a serious talk with the Heavenly Dao. How could such a huge bug go unnoticed?
Jiang Hu had followed her through three worlds already.
If every little world from now on featured Jiang Hu, Mo Nian Nian would collapse just from thinking about it.
[What’s the male lead’s hostility level?]
[One hundred.]
Mo Nian Nian rubbed her ears. [Excuse me? How much?]
[One hundred.] The system blinked its big eyes hopefully. [It’s a bit high, but I believe the host can handle it~]
Mo Nian Nian almost laughed. What was Jiang Hu’s deal—hostility level maxed out?
