Chapter 49: The Overpowered, Bug-Level Sniper Rifle

The random item pack contained a total of four items, and among them was a defensive kit—exactly what Xing Xiaolong needed most.

These four items were exactly the supplies Xing Xiaolong desperately needed. While not extraordinarily lucky, the timing was perfect.

The bulletproof helmet and vest were essential defensive gear for the battlefield. In the upcoming rescue operation, having an extra set could mean an extra life.

As for the small and large medical kits, their value was self-explanatory to anyone who had used them.

To recover quickly from his injuries and avoid being turned away by Louis’s professionals, Xing Xiaolong wasted not a second. He grabbed one of the large medical bottles, unscrewed it, and gulped down the contents.

The effect was instant and powerful—worthy of being called a “large” medicine. The fist-sized bottle of red liquid worked far more vigorously than the small kit. Xing Xiaolong shuddered several times, his mind cleared with refreshing lucidity, and the places where his hand and leg were injured beneath their casts tingled with a sharp, numbing itch.

With his injuries on the mend, Xing Xiaolong's mood improved greatly. He then drew a set of gray-and-white tactical gear from his only random character pack.

“Clothing that increases carrying capacity?” Xing Xiaolong, seeing this reward, suddenly thought of the unsolved mystery that had long puzzled him—physical resistance.

So that’s it. Every costume must have different attributes. Damn, that's impressive.

He opened his real-time player information panel and clicked into the character equipment tab. Sure enough, he spotted a costume called SWAT.

The SWAT costume’s attribute was written there: doubles the player's resistance to damage.

Saber-Toothed Tiger increased carrying capacity, while SWAT increased resistance—each had its own use. Since he didn’t need extra carrying capacity now, Xing Xiaolong left the Saber-Toothed Tiger set in the dressing room.

He checked the game store and found the Armory, but inside were only a repair room and a creative modification studio—no sign of any Enhancement Workshop.

Knowing something tempting is within reach but not being able to access it is truly maddening.

But the CF Store was just that unhelpful, with no assistance or hints anywhere. All Xing Xiaolong could do was stew in his frustration.

“Never mind, it’s not like I have enough CF points for upgrades right now anyway.”

Giving himself this excuse to calm his nerves, he turned his attention to the final two mystery packs.

As soon as he tore open the first one, he was stunned.

In one of these last two packs, his luck finally exploded.

His desired gun had arrived—

“What a gun—the AWM Outlaw! As fierce as its name suggests, with 200 millimeters of material penetration, nothing in this world could stop its bullet. Hitting titanium would be as easy as shooting through tofu—this thing is a bug among bugs.”

Xing Xiaolong slowly drew the rifle from the bag, savoring its intimidating presence. The long scope, the wild gray camo wrappings, everything about it radiated power.

The gleam in his eyes was as if he had just embraced the lover of his dreams, feeling her soft, smooth skin pressed against him, swaying together to music.

Every pore of his body cheered in delight.

After nearly five minutes of admiring the AWM Outlaw, he reluctantly set it down and reached into the last package.

“Another great item!” He couldn’t help laughing aloud—this was the very definition of having the right tool at the right time. Already ecstatic over the gun, Xing Xiaolong now felt as if his luck was unstoppable.

Luckily, no one was nearby, or they’d have thought him crazy.

Now that all the CF Store packs were open, it was time to turn to the CS:GO armory rewards. Xing Xiaolong, barely containing his excitement, hurried to equip all his new gear.

In the player panel’s weapon interface, he could equip one primary weapon, one secondary, one melee weapon, eight magazine slots, and three grenade slots.

Thanks to his level-one backpack, the interface offered five additional flexible equipment slots.

Items stored in the personal inventory required opening the CF Store’s cumbersome menus to retrieve and use. But equipping them on his person meant he could simply reach to the corresponding spot on the player panel and pull them out as if by magic.

The entire process was as seamless as a magic trick—dramatically improving convenience.
